Early Motivation and Background
My first fascination as a medical student was watching blood vessels carry life throughout the body — vessels that could determine life or death. Every second in the operating room is intense, and I thrive in that environment. I later combined surgery with the privilege of using imagination and state-of-the-art biological concepts to push boundaries in the service of patients.
Academic Path
After 15 intense years of surgical and research training — from Lille and Paris, France, to Seattle, USA — I was deeply grateful to see doors open wide for my research in gene and cell therapy for vascular diseases, and to witness the first-in-human applications of innovations. I quickly decided to embrace another source of excitement: teaching. Passing on academic research skills to surgeons of all specialties across France became one of my most rewarding commitments.
Turning Towards Erectile Dysfunction
One day, I discovered a condition I had never even heard of: venous leakage. I realized I had crossed paths with thousands of patients without ever imagining the weight of their suffering. I was told the condition was untreatable. Guess what — that only fueled my curiosity and determination. I saw in it a unique challenge, one perfectly suited to my expertise as a vascular and endovascular surgeon, and as a researcher. It became an opportunity to push yet another medical frontier.
Today’s Mission and Philosophy
My mission: break taboos, mobilize all branches of medical knowledge, and bring erectile health to full awareness. By 2035, I want every man with erectile dysfunction to receive the same standard of diagnosis and treatment as for any other health condition. All men — and couples — deserve the best attention, expertise, and care to fulfill their contract with life.

Public Health Advocacy through Brigitte Lahaie Sud Radio
Regular guest on Brigitte Lahaie Sud Radio, using a national media platform to raise awareness that venous leakage-related ED can affect men of all ages — including young adults and adolescents — and emphasizing that it is a treatable condition.
Presidency of the Scientific Council, La Fondation de l’Avenir
Presided over the Scientific Council of La Fondation de l’Avenir, France’s leading institution supporting surgical research, where he reinforced its national role, strengthened funding programs, and guided strategic priorities to support innovation.
Coordination of Surgical Rescue Operations, Paris Attacks
Coordinated surgical rescue operations at Henri Mondor University Hospital in the immediate aftermath of the Paris terrorist attacks, leading multidisciplinary teams to provide life-saving interventions for severely wounded victims under extreme pressure.
Leadership of France’s Master’s Program in Surgical Sciences
Led France’s Master’s program in Surgical Sciences at Paris-Est Créteil University, a rigorous academic pathway preparing surgeons for careers in research and academia. Over eight years, the program trained 700 surgeons, with 80% of future surgery professors in French universities among its alumni, contributing to thousands of peer-reviewed publications.
Creation of the Awards for Surgeons of the Future
Conceived and co-founded the Awards for Surgeons of the Future, forging a lasting partnership between Paris-Est Créteil University, La Fondation de l’Avenir, and the French National Academy of Surgery. These awards have become a national benchmark, inspiring surgical innovation, recognizing outstanding scientific achievements, and fostering collaboration between operating theaters and research laboratories.
Direction of CNRS Research Unit UMR 7054
Directed CNRS research unit UMR 7054, a multidisciplinary center advancing vascular biology, gene therapy, cell therapy, and embolization. Under his leadership, the unit became an international reference, mentoring new clinician-scientists and producing 120 peer-reviewed publications in leading journals.

Dr. Allaire contributed to this authoritative textbook on venous diseases, covering modern surgical and endovenous treatments for both superficial and deep veins of the limbs. His chapter shares advanced surgical techniques and clinical insights for managing deep venous insufficiency.
This study investigates the motivations and challenges faced by young surgeons entering fundamental research. It identifies key barriers such as time constraints and limited funding, while highlighting the role of academic ambition and the need for institutional support to sustain surgical innovation.
This landmark study pioneered gene therapy for treating aortic aneurysms, showing that catheter-delivered TGF-β1 can stabilize an expanding aneurysm. The approach triggers functional healing, restoring the aortic wall’s resilience and preventing further growth, marking a breakthrough in vascular gene therapy.
This preclinical research demonstrates that mesenchymal stem cells can stabilize the growth of an existing aortic aneurysm. This study establishes penile Doppler ultrasonography after pharmacological stimulation as a fundamental tool in diagnosing and monitoring cavernovenous leakage. It provides an accurate initial assessment and objective follow-up after surgical or endovascular treatment, ensuring measurable confirmation of therapeutic success in managing this specific cause of erectile dysfunction.
This paper details a combined open surgery and embolisation technique performed in one session to treat drug-resistant erectile dysfunction caused by cavernovenous leaks. In a study of 171 patients, the approach enabled over 80% to regain effective erections, demonstrating significant improvement in erectile function for those unresponsive to medication.
This study presents a hybrid surgical and endovascular protocol for erectile dysfunction caused by cavernovenous leakage in men unresponsive to medication. Combining advanced diagnostics with embolisation and open surgery in a single session restored sexual function in 82% of patients, establishing a highly effective treatment for this challenging condition.
This preclinical study explores a pioneering cell-based approach for treating complex arteriovenous malformations (AVMs). In a swine model, catheter-injected bone marrow stem cells within a hydrogel induced effective nidus occlusion through targeted tissue growth, offering a promising new avenue for managing AVMs and other microvascular disorders.
